PBEM 1853 Haathi

Haathi Indian (Gujurat) for elephant. It is also the leader of the elephant herd in The Jungle Book, and was suggested by Nick Roworth. (Suggesting a theme for 1853 game names - Baloo, Kaa, Mowgli, etc.)

The initial bidding is being done with Stuart Dagger's modified bid rules (basically bid a total amount; order the players; then claim one share and secretly note one city at a time until your bid amount is used.)

Maps

The "master" PostScript map, built using the ps18xx package, is kept up-to-date and includes the map history. At the end of each operating round, a GIF will be created from the PostScript, which is detailed enough to figure out routes, as long as you already know what the small print says. File sizes (where given) are rounded to the nearest 5k.

Note: Version 1.3 of ps18xx seems to have some minor mistakes in the 1853 map; I have manually fixed my copy, and Matthias has added the changes to his site. (I have not checked to see if the version number has changed)
