Animation

Animation now comes in various common formats. In the past I used to make only QuickTime animations, but then I started to make animated GIFs, and now Flash. But most of my work has been in GIFs, and in 3D.

Animations designed for web use are linked from my “Web-Sites” section. Please visit there as well.

QuickTime Animations:

Note:
These are uploaded here as GIF89a animated files, not as the QuickTime format files I originally created them in. That way you don't need to worry about selecting a player app, or downloading and installing the QuickTime plug-in. I have other animations I plan to convert to GIF89a and display here. Come again!

  • Animated “Season’s Greetings” card for Cisco Systems (341K). The actual animation as used by Cisco was twice the size and frame rate of this sample, and had a soundtrack. This project, from storyboards to modeling, soundtrack, and rendering (using 6 Power Macintoshes), was completed in about 10 hectic days.

  • SuperScape “V.WWW” logo presentation animation. The final version consisted of QuickTime of only the rotating cube while the V was a separate still image.

Macromedia Flash Animations:

  • Learn more about me! (An amusing autobiography-in-a-nutshell.) Flash sure can be fun, and it's very easy to learn. I learned by downloading the free 30-day trial version and spending about an hour going through their on-line tutorials. It's much easier than learning a 3D modeling and animation program. Though my experience with programs like Strata StudioPro, and even Adobe Premiere and ImageReady, may have made Flash easier for me.
