Psi.net is primarily a bandwidth and POP provider for other ISPs.
PSI is a rogue network provider. They are known to write pink contracts, which are contracts with spammers which expressly permit the customer to spam. PSI is known to forward spam complaints directly to the spammer.
Psi is the service provider to Benchmark Supply, a persistent email spammer.
PSI has its own dial-up ISP business under the name Interramp.com.
PSI now requests that spam complaints be done via an online web page at http://www.support.psinet.com/PSIabusetik

PSI has a pro-spam policy for web sites which it hosts, provided that the spamming is done from throw-away accounts on other providers. PSI also has a pro-spam policy for its bandwidth and POP customers. Psi's anti-spam policy for its own dialups and dialup customers seems to be very good, although not consistently enforced.
As of Sept, 1998, PSI was responding to complaints with a notice that the offending account has been disabled. These notices are form letters and complete fabrications. See netnews thread pop4mail LARTed

PSI, like many major service providers, exerts the absolute minimum effort required to stay off the Realtime Black List and avoid the Usenet Death Penalty. PSI allows spam problems to get worse and worse until the usenet community takes some sort of action. They then institute whatever measures are required to avoid the RBL or UDP. Sometimes this consists of simply promising to do something about the problem.

Please be assured that we will investigate your complaint and take appropriate action in accordance with our Policy.
