Sinead Stone
"Legacy of a Quiet Man" features the haunting voice of Dublin singer
Sinéad Stone, whose interpretation of these songs is
heartfelt and sublime. Sinéad comes from a traditional singing background
and until the release of this album she has been one of Ireland's great-undiscovered
vocal talents. She has previously recorded with the Café Orchestra on
their album "Topaz" where she sings "Moon River" and another
Dick Farrelly song - "Man of the Road".
Gerard Farrelly worked as a graphic artist for several years
before taking up a full time career in music. He started playing drums in his
teens and then took up the piano in his mid twenties, and went on to study at
The College of Music Dublin where he received his performance diploma. His work
as a drummer and keyboard player has also involved him in theatre and the recording
studio, in which he has worked as a session musician on albums and many television
and radio jingles. He has also worked as musical director with the Irish Childrens'
Theatre Company and composed the music for their production of "The Land
of Hearts Desire" by W B Yeats. Gerard also teaches music and manages Andic
Songs Publishing.
Sinéad and Gerard have performed together at the International Fiddlers
Green Folk Festival, which takes place every year in Rostrevor, Co. Down, along
with performances in venues such as The National Concert Hall. They have also
performed on RTE radio & television, TG4 Television and BBC Northern Ireland.
Their television appearances include - The Late Late Show, Live At 3, Open House
and Sheebín.
