On the first Friday in February the Great Hall at Dartington resonated with the huskily soulful
voice and multi-coloured guitar playing of Rosemary Schonfeld The set was peppered with
examples of Rosemary's quirky humour which led us seamlessly from one song to the next....
The guitar styles Rosemary used varied as much as the subject matter of the songs. From rock
through jazz to country and western, from the terrors of falling in love to satires on shopping and
normality, both music and words have twists and turns which keep a sense of surprise alive.
There is a depth and complexity to the songs which ask for them to be listened to again and
again.
Jane Lopresti, Event South West.
Ten powerful and witty original songs by Rosemary Schonfeld. As you'd expect from her previous
work with Ova, her experience as a sound engineer and her reputation as an expert percussionist
and guitar player, the album is well-produced and accomplished, with A variety of subtle,
interesting backings.... Check it out for good songs: Nights Without Armour (without emotional
protection), Why Did I Let, and a strong, warm voice.

Jennifer Kimball's new CD, "Veering From the Wave" (Imaginary Road/Polygram), isn't so much a solo debut as it is a reintroduction to a familiar artist. Listeners will instantly recognize Kimball's voice by virtue of her work with The Story, the commercially-successful and critically-acclaimed group that in the early-'90s blazed the trail for contemporary, chart-topping folk-pop artists like Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole and Jewel. As one-half of that now-legendary duo which made two albums for Elektra Records ("Angel In the House," "Grace In Gravity") and helped foster a whole new genre of intelligent, acoustic-based folk-pop -- to which radio responded at the time by creating Triple-A (Adult Album Alternative), an entirely new format -- Kimball supplied the group's signature harmonies and a hefty dose of comic relief in its live shows.
"Slowly but surely, Jennifer Kimball has amassed a solo repertoire that could be considered world-class.
Formerly part of the acoustic duo the Story (with Amherst College friend Jonatha Brooke), Kimball has a
new album that will be distributed by PolyGram in a couple of weeks. An advance hearing of a few of the
tracks bodes well, as Kimball's elastic, jazz-stretched voice is wonderfully matched with her acutely
perceptive lyric writing."

Marianne Flemming brings
a decidedly left of center
perspective to her songwriting.
Described as “textured, expressive,
sensual and zany,” she has many
hues on her songwriting palette.
Born and raised in South Florida,
Marianne got the music bug early
due to an influence from her father,
a nightclub singer in the 40’s and
50’s. Upon graduating college,
Marianne hit the road, and thru her
travels she gathered the many
influences that would become her unique style. Years spent performing in
the Caribbean , busking in Europe, or jamming in a bar in Venezuela have
all been synthesized into a musical style that lifts your soul and moves your
feet. From Blues to Rock, Jazz to Reggae, her original material is truly a
musical evolution.
"Best Acoustic Performer -
"Pour a slug of rock, a ripple of
reggae, a jigger of jazz, a bolt of
blues, and a finger of folk into a
brassy, self described "chick
with a guitar" decanter. Stir in
lusty lyrics and a versatile,
seasoned, husky-but-oh-so-sweet
voice capable of growling,
purring, chuckling, warbling,
and whispering at will. Belt the
inebriating elixir down with a
serious riffing acoustic guitar
chaser. Then just settle back and
wait for the buzz to hit."
New Times, Miami, FL
"Marianne carries the total package: strong
songwriting, accomplished guitar
technique, charismatic and alluring vocals, and an
endearing, self effacing sense of humor that permeates
every show."
