1967 250S
Highlights
Original California car. 84K miles. Perfect body. Almost always garaged or covered. Has rare option of rear-seat C-post reading lamps. Also has options of power steering, Becker Europa, center armrests and rear speaker.Drivetrain: Original. No major work on engine. Some oil consumption since new-- suspected that rings never properly seated. Head has never been removed. Transmission and rear end excellent. |
Glass, Doors & Windows:
Windshield good. All doors fully functional, excellent door seals, etc. .Brakes: Brakes have been maintained routinely. Recent replacement of brake hoses.Misc: Tires have very little wear, excellent condition, but have been on car for many years. Although car runs well and has been checked out, it has had very little use in the last fifteen years. For that reason, caution should be exercised, and further preventive service measures are recommended. |
|
Interior:
Some sun damage to the finish of the wood trim. Some discoloration of the dash plastic, but cracks. |
Body:
The car has never been in a collision, and has never had paintwork done. There is at least one small paint chip on a fender lip. The burgundy paint is susceptible to oxidation, and a repaint has been suggested. |
|
This was our family's first new car. We took delivery at Sindelfingen in June of 1967, and drove the car for a month or so around Europe. After arriving in California, and for the next 37 years, the car became the "opera car" driven only occasionally for was mostly driven for special occasions. |
